A 45-YEAR-old man strangled his wife and then slept alongside the dead body for nearly a week, cops say.
A couple who knew Jeff Sherwood and Susan Klepsch called police after checking on them on Saturday.
Sherwood and Klepsch, who was 64, had not been heard from in a while in their neighborhood in Hazel Park, Michigan.
“They went in the house and the suspect and (his wife) were laying in bed and appeared to be sleeping,” Police Chief Brian Buchholz told the Daily Tribune.
“The suspect woke up and appeared to be incoherent.
“They didn’t get a response from the victim and were concerned for her.”
Cops and paramedics would soon arrive at the home and find her body in the bed.
Sherwood was arrested.
“He was acting lethargic,” Buchholz told the newspaper.
“He later admitted to a detective that he had struck and strangled and kicked the victim.”
Investigators say that Klepsch accused her husband of cheating on him before she was killed.

It is believed that she had been dead for nearly a week when she was found.
“It appears he would get in bed with her when he slept,” the Hazel Park police chief told the Daily Tribune.
Sherwood, married to Klepsch since 2018, was arraigned for first-degree murder.
